A profound experience I had was visiting Paris about three years ago. It reshaped the way I think and live back home.
Western and European cultures couldn’t be more different if they tried. Growing up in upstate New York, I was used to a fast-paced, individualistic mindset one where people keep to themselves and prioritize efficiency. In contrast, being in Europe felt like stepping into a world where accessibility had no limits, where life flowed more organically, and connection seemed effortless.
Stepping outside of my familiar surroundings taught me one of the most valuable lessons: experiencing a different way of life not only broadens your perspective but deepens your understanding of others. Whether through culture, food, or love, travel has a way of revealing the beauty of shared human experiences.
